When We Train
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any experience to start Judo?
No experience needed. Our Judo program is structured for complete beginners through competition-level athletes, and every new member starts with the same foundational curriculum.
What should I wear to my first class?
Comfortable athletic clothing is fine for your first class. If you continue past your trial, you'll need a judogi (judo uniform) — loaner gis are available for trial classes.
How often should I train per week to see progress?
Most members see steady progress training two classes per week. Our competition team trains more frequently — talk to a coach about the right frequency for your goals.
Is Judo safe for beginners?
Yes. Throws and groundwork are taught progressively under direct coach supervision, with safe falling technique (ukemi) covered before any live sparring.
Can I try a class before committing to a membership?
Yes — your first class is free, no contract and no pressure. Book a free trial to see the program in action.
